**34 Coney Street - a brand new holiday let development of the highest quality right in the city centre**
Coney Street, York’s premier shopping street was home to some colourful characters down the ages. In 1150, the main street in York, was called Cuningstrete, the King’s Street. It ran from Ousegate right to the Museum Gardens. By the 18th century it was the site of the seat of government in the city, with the Guildhall and the Mansion House in pride of place. But it was in the 19th century that it became a shopping centre par excellence, with high class fashion establishments, costumiers, furriers, milliners, linen drapers, pianoforte warehouse, bookshops and jewellers, as well as the home of York’s first department store, Leak and Thorp which opened in 1869.
The Servants Quarter
This sumptuous one-bedroom apartment has been furnished with extravagance in mind, a far cry from its previous use. Finished with a beautiful olive-green colour running through within the wall coverings and furniture. Hints of rattan, brass and luxurious fabrics ensure the feeling of luxury runs right through the apartment. There is a beautiful bedroom complete with a free-standing bath for total indulgence - plus a separate bathroom with walk in shower. A fully fitted kitchen for preparing your treat to go with an ice-cold glass of something or just your morning cup of coffee, it’s a perfect space for either.
There is also a separate lounge where you can sit back and relax in front of the smart TV or just while away the hours in your own private luxury oasis. You also have the added treat of your own private little terrace area where you can sit and enjoy your pre dinner drink or holiday breakfast, planning the days ahead. The living area also features a sofa bed that can be used to accommodate the occasional extra guest or children.
Although there is no parking with the apartment as such, there are plenty of paid for parking options close by. Just enquire for details.

Amazing stay!
19 July 2024
Had an amazing stay at the servants quarters and it was almost faultless. Spacious, clean, amazingly decorated and designed and very well equipped. The only two things marked as a 4 instead of a 5 were not enough to detract from a great stay, but more for feedback and consideration. The large tap over the bath was leaking and started to create a puddle behind the bath which just needs looking at as it could damage the floor more than anything. And with it being under ground, if you were a light sleeper, the noise of people walking above could be an issue but Id just recommend picking another one of the lovely rooms above ground level! Customer service was great too as I only found this room late on and changed our original room booked at late notice. I will definitely be back and have already recommended to several people! Thank you for an perfect stay - my partner had the best birthday
Great location

Really good location- only 10 minute walk from most hotspots. The only downfall was the condition of the sofa- it was dirty and overused. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on and gave me hip pain. The actual bed and was comfortable and rest of the flat was immaculate. Great facilities and clean
Great stay!

Found place very dark with no windows which you could have done with some fresh air through the place. Also could have been cleaner especially the stairs down to the servants quarters could have done with a good hoover and the skirting boards could have done with a clean. Found when having a shower water not draining away. With the cost of the place which is not cheap you do expect 5 star luxury. Customer service received and instructions about our stay were first class also the location. Would stay again but definitely choose a different room.
Great location. Clean and tidy apartment.

Nice apartment with plenty of space. There are a flight of stairs to go down into the Servants Quarter apartment so dont bring too much or heavy luggage! Couldnt fault the location. Right in the very Centre of York. Very clean, well equipped apartment. Would recommend. Especially if you want more space than a hotel room.

Perfect location couldn’t be better, easy to find and access room due to clear hassle free instructions. Very comfortable bed and quiet room so we slept great. We stayed in the ‘servants quarters’ which was very spacious and luxurious with own terrance perfect for romantic break.
OK good location!

I had high hopes for this place for the simple reason it was a new property didn't really get that from walking in all walls marked guessing from guest cases our room was OK not the best cleaned still all red love hearts all over the floor throughout from the last guests empty packet on one of chairs, a hair bobble within the room guide book & bathroom wasn't upto my cleanliness at all toothpaste down sink cupboard door & not one single toilet roll provided so the first thing we had to do was go out & buy toilet roll as no one about to speak to at property to ask for some! Room was quite noisy so not the best couple of nights sleep & then a fire alarm going off in the morning when I'd just got out of the shower wasn't ideal when we got to the door of our room a cleaner was going past I said is everything OK she said yes I said just the fire alarm is going off for her to reply oh yeah it's fine it happens all the time it's abit "faulty" one no sorry about that & two not very reassuring when your in a basement apartment & it's a regular thing! Location was good though so that was a plus of the weekend I would say that's the highlight of the property is the location.
Rosie - Stays York Replied:
Good afternoon, thank you for your review.
We are very sorry to hear about the issues with cleanliness you experienced during your stay with us. Please be assured this is not our usual standard and we have passed on your comments to the cleaning company. Had you let us know about these during your stay, we would have been able to send the cleaners back.
Regarding the fire alarm, this is not faulty and it gets checked regularly by the team. On the day the alarm went off during your stay, one of the other guests had accidentally burned their breakfast and set off the alarms in the entire building. Two members of the team attended to this straight away and the alarms were turned off.
We hope you still had a nice time in York and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Kind regards
Stays York
