Great for a true York experience

A particularly good location for us as we have family nearby but the house deserves the high rating- immaculately clean and comfortable with all you need for a city break. The stairs are steep as is to be expected in a C19th house and there is a walk into town but that is described on the details. We will be back I’m certain

The house was within walking distance of the city centre, ideal as there was parking. A well fitted & comfortable property had everything we needed for a three night stay.

The location is great, very nice and cozy.

Firstly, I’d like to say what a great little house this is. The location is perfect and is only a 10-15 min walk to the city centre. Secondly, when we arrived we noticed the key box had been left opened, the kitchen tap had been left on. The house appeared clean at first but on closer inspection we noticed a lot of dust in bedroom drawers, on top of the wardrobes, under the bed (my husband had put a shoe bag underneath the bed and when he retrieved it, it was covered in dust), in the front room and the kitchen cupboards were sticky. The three recycling bins were overflowing and the main rubbish bin was full. Olivia arranged for the main rubbish to be collected three days later. The cutlery draw in the kitchen was full of crumbs and I had to clean it out thoroughly. The water in the bathroom sink wasn’t emptying so I lifted the plug and it was full of soap scum and hair which again I had to clean. My husband noticed a drain smell in the house and bathroom. The cooker hood lights weren’t working and the hood was dusty. If the issues of cleanliness are addressed, it would be a great place to stay.

Lovely house with beautiful wee garden. Had a lovely stay

Nice quiet neighborhood, and easy walk to the city center. Home had everything I needed, and the washer & dryer were nice to have for a three week stay.

Perfect location, clean, cozy, and inviting place. Lots of kitchen supplies in case you want to cook. Host was friendly and responsive.

A great little place located a 10 minute walk away from the city centre. There's the added bonus of having a fab little patio, too!

The house was very cozy in a quiet street. Only a 15 minute walk to the city wall and Minster.
Everything that we could possibly need was in the house. Very well laid out with classy decor. Plenty of information about York which was useful.
I did alter the heating because the house did get warm very quickly. The heating seemed to be programmed to come on at 21 degrees at 4am…. I always woke up and had to turn it down. A minor problem that can be easily fixed.

Cosy and well equipped little house on a quiet street. Parking was easy with the provided permit - a space was always available never more than a few meters from the door.

We had a great stay in this lovely little flat tucked in a very quiet neighborhood just a short and delightful walk to the city walls. A perfect home away from home.

I booked a 3 night stay for me and my mum to explore York. Location of property very good. For 2 out of our 3 days we were inconvenienced by not having hot water or heating due to a problem with the boiler. A gas engineer was arranged but did not arrive until late afternoon to fix the problem, this left us with no shower facilities prior to us going out for our evening meal. We were disappointed that we had no courtesy call and no offer of a small token of compensation from Stay York. Such a shame.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay. Unfortunately, during your stay a fault occurred on the boiler. We called the engineer out on the Thursday when you first reported the issue. The engineer made an immediate fix ensuring that heating and hot water was restored. Unfortunately the boiler failed again on the Friday morning. Following your call we again got the engineer out as soon as he was available, which was that afternoon. He suppled a new part that day and the heating and hot water were restored. Since the replacement part, there wouldn't appear to be any further issues. We are really very sorry that this happened, sometimes things are unavoidable, we do however do our very best to be responsive to limit the impact on our guests stay. I am sorry that you didn't feel that this was the case during your stay, I can assure you that we did our very best to have things remedied for you as a matter of urgency and we really hope that this will not prevent you from visiting York again in the future.

We had a nice relaxing weekend - thank you. Clean and comfortable. Quiet street. Convenient location. Well equipped kitchen. Nice to sit out in the small backyard. Local guidebooks and tourist leaflets and instructions on using equipment provided.

It was apreciated they leave us two tablets for the dishwasher and also soap for the washing machine, enough for one week. They also have some guides and books about Yorkshire that I used to find places to visit, eat, etc. In general, a wonderful stay. Thank you very much. My only warning is the stairs, they are not long but they are very steep, not suitable for small kids or older people.

House was very clean with everything provided including cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. The little dishwasher was excellent!
The house is small enough to be cosy but not too small so as to be crowded.

Property was well maintained, tastefully decorated and had everything you could need for a stay. The finished, crockery, glasses, bedding, pillows etc. were high quality. The location was great a short, level, 10 minute walk into town. The welcome pack was a nice touch and the supply of dishwasher tablets and cleaning cloths good thinking. On street parking just outside the property with a free pass was also appreciated.

A lovely stay in York in a fully equipt comfortable house. Good location, 10 minute walk into the city centre.
