A wonderful stay in York!
20 October 2024
We throughly enjoyed our stay at North Parade. The house was very clean and comfortable and the location is perfect! A ten minute stroll and youre right in the centre of beautiful York. Only a couple of issues. There was a problem with the parking permit meaning we had to find alternative parking and were expected to pay up front and the owners/management company would reimburse us. The problem being that cost was £83 per 24 hours! I took it upon myself to find closer and cheaper parking at £60 for the four nights we were there using Your Parking Space app. Payment wasnt made until around one week later. For those on a budget its not ideal to expect people to front that cost I dont think. Apart from that there also wasnt a single tea bag or coffee sachet in sight. Thats a bit disappointing. Weve hired many properties and you normally do get that at least so if youre booking make sure you bring the minimum because there wasnt anything left. One tea towel and watered down washing up liquid. Its a bit mean, however overall its a lovely charming comfortable house and the beds were the most comfortable Ive slept in, in a rental. That makes a huge difference to me and the bathroom is huge with a lovely freestanding bath! So I would book again and recommend to anyone.
Needs improvement.

Disappointing Accomodation

Stay at North Parade
17 July 2024
Tired property that gives impression owners have completely lost interest. If 4 people were staying I think they would struggle with the amount of crockery provided. No teapot. Positives - location and comfy bed. Negatives - too many small niggles to name but enough to add up to an impression of not caring with minimal effort to make property up to a good standard.
Lovely house, great location
1 June 2024
Location super - minutes walk from the Museum Park/River and 10 minutes walk to city centre. Road very quiet, easy to park outside. House is extremely well furnished and comfortable. We ate all meals out so cant comment on functionality of kitchen but seemed well equipped but the addition of a tea pot, kitchen roll and more than one tea towel would be good. A couple of very small areas need some attention to peeling paint and in shower the base sealant needs cleaning or replacement - but these are really small things and didnt detract from our enjoyment of this property which overall is in excellent condition. Unfortunately weather wasnt good enough for us to use the patio but looked like a nice outside space. Over all a lovely property and we would definitely stay here again next time in York.

Great location to visit York. 10 minute walk to city centre. Added bonus of having parking permit and had no issues parking outside the door of property. Well presented and equipped property. Would definitely recommend and return.
Generally very good - though some issues need addressing.
23 April 2024
Great location - a short walk from city walls, river and green spaces to walk the dog. House itself is comfortable but not luxury. There is a slight musty smell in the hallway - should be looked in to. A blocked drain resulting in kitchen sink water overflowing into the courtyard also needs attention. Sadly the house has no facility for recycling - we took our empty bottles home rather than put them in the one general purpose bin.
Christmas time in York
13 December 2023
22 North Parade is very stylish, reasonably well kitted out even a teapot as an added bonus. Beds were comfortable, we barely used the front room preferring the snug sitting room off of the kitchen diner. The house was within walking distance of York centre and the buzz of Christmas despite the weather was amazing.
Beautiful apartment
22 November 2023
This property is beautiful, comfortable & the location is perfect. Just a few steps to the Minster & the city center. It is immaculately clean. The only reason I gave the customer service a 4 is because the washing machine was extremely difficult to figure out. I called the phone number given and talked to a pleasant lady, however, she only sent me a copy of the handbook which was no help at all. This isnt the worst that could happen, but the problem wasnt solved. The machine would wash but not dry. We were able to air dry the clothes, but didnt do another load as it became closer to our checking out. Other than that, this property is perfection. We would definitely return.
Lovely stay in York!
23 August 2023
We had a fantastic stay here. The location is brilliant with walking distance to York and the space is very comfortable and well decorated. There were unfortunately a few helpful things missing (hand soap & bin bags) that meant we had to go buy these things which always feels frustrating, and such small things that nobody travels with, so bring these with you to avoid having to head out for them.

Our first trip to York and this house was perfectly situated to explore the city without once using the car. The street was quiet, pleasant and felt safe to stay in. Plenty of street parking outside the house and the parking permit was a big bonus. The house was warm, welcoming, spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Really highly recommend this house!
New years stay 22 North Parade
4 January 2023
We had a pleasant stay at 22 North Parade over New years. The house is cosy and well furnished. Location is ideal, only a 10 mins walk into town and there are river walks approx 10-15 mins in the other direction. We would definitely recommend to friends Visiting York. Small things for lenders to review are, dog gate needs to be more secure, court yard gate is stiff and hard to open for dog access through to kitchen.
Lovely little house, shame about the arrival
29 December 2022
The property is in a great location and easily walkable to the centre of York. Lots of pubs and restaurants near by, and a very good butchers. The property has a parking permit provided, as parking in York is pretty tricky. Very comfortable and in a decent condition. There is a lack of hanging space in the bedrooms, although plenty of drawers. They have a log burning stove, but dont provide even a small amount of wood to have a fire with, which would be a nice touch. The most disappointing issue was that the property was not cleaned upon our arrival and it was not ready until almost an hour after our check in time. Not useful when you have 2 small children trying to manage with cleaners everywhere. We requested Christmas decorations at the time of booking and reconfirmed these on paying the invoice. Both times told it would not be a problem and they will organise. But these were not in the house, and after complaining, arrived late the next day. Again not good when with small children the week before Christmas. The issues were sorted out eventually but they should never have happened, and the cleaning company shouldnt be arriving at the check in time to clean the whole house. This is our third visit to North Parade and it is a very nice little house, shame about the poor organisation on our arrival this time.

This place was perfect. We were visiting family just outside of York for Christmas and with 2 dogs we found this perfectly placed home. Close to the river for dog walks, a quick walk into the centre and on the edge to be able to drive in and out without hitting the city traffic. The house was spotless and very homely. The dogs settled in quickly and the gate to kitchen made sure we could secure them if we were popping out. Overall it fitted our needs and made our trip even more enjoyable!
A cosy, chic house, perfect location
5 November 2022
We loved our stay in this lovely house, in central York. It's very tastefully decorated, well equipped and we particularly enjoyed the comfy beds and the log burner. It is a short walk to the centre of York so exploring the city was easy and convenient. We enjoyed wandering round the shops and sites, including the Jorvik Centre, Pho York (tasty Vietnamese food) and Brew York (fabulous beers!). The team at Stays York were extremely helpful. The only feedback to consider is that it would be much easier to be able to park outside so hopefully the parking permit will come through soon for other guests to benefit from. Meanwhile, it might be worth improving the parking instructions to include that you can't use the Ringo App in the main Marygate car park and that you pay when you leave. We also think it would be great to have a doormat at each door, as when it rained it made the house unnecessarily wet and soggy on the floors.

Great Location, Lovely House
24 August 2021
We had a week here in August. The location of the house is great, and everything you need is within a short walk. Parking on the street is much easier than we thought it would be. The street is very quiet and there are plenty of parking spaces. The house itself was very clean, and had everything we needed. The beds in particular were extremely comfortable - I had the best night sleep in a long time!
Quiet and comfortable, yet close to the centre.
1 May 2021
North Parade is brilliantly situated: quiet and away from the crowds, yet only 10 minutes walk from the Minster, Museum Gardens or the river (which is lovely to walk along), and little more to Homestead Park. The house has a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and is comfortable and spacious. The beds in particular are superbly comfortable. We had a wonderful stay, although most visitor attractions were still closed, and would happily stay there again. Highly recommended. One small point; if you have a very large car, you will find the bays at the end of the road easier than kerbside parking, as the road is narrow.

Had s lovely time. Only a couple of niggles, bed wasnt split into two singles which had been asked for, parking permit had been taken to office by mistake but quickly brought back and wifi was totally different to what was in pack. Luckily office was open to ask about this. But we did get into property earlier than advertised. Lovely property, very central
Great House close to all York has to offer
28 July 2020
Very nicely put together house with great location for both York centre and for walks along the river and out to the countryside. We didnt touch the car when we were there for the week. Everything you need and nice extras. Spotless. It is a little dark and there is some wear on furnishings, but nothing at all a problem. We went as a family and I dont believe we were asked whether we wanted two doubles or a twin, the twin is the master with a second small double room, again not really a problem but made up as two doubles for us. Parking and street narrow - I was a bit intimidated as street very narrow with parked cars on both sides, but we got parked easily right outside, great so close to York Minster. Little courtyard a bonus in the Sun and bath fab!
Highly recommend

Absolutely perfect. The house is spotless and beautifully decorated, the sheets and towels are lovely quality, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Parking on the street was easy and it's less than a 10 minute walk into the city centre so the location is ideal. Stays York made the booking process easy, were responsive and provided clear instructions for access. It really felt like a home from home and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Really smart house, better than photos. Comfortable and the owners made sure it was snug and warm for our arrival on a cold November evening. Good to be so central and in a smart area. Very comfortable beds!

“Really nice place, great location about 5 minutes walk from town. School playing fields behind house so not overlooked. Place itself is lovely and some nice touches from host such as coffe/tea and chocs left as a welcome gift. Kids loved it too. Place was spotlessly clean and a good size for a family if 4. Parking was fine, quite a narrow street but no problem even with a large car. Bathroom is amazing and master bedroom huge. Would definately recommend this place.”

“This is a great house in an excellent location. Just a 5 minute walk into the City, passing a handy Sainsburys Local for everything you need day to day. House is very spacious and the bed in the main bedroom is a more like a Superking than King size. The other bed is a comfortable double. We have stayed in York several times now and would recommend this area of the City to first time visitors. It's easy to navigate the City from here and there is a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants close by. We would happily stay here again :)”
Excellent house, professional service.

Lovely stay!
19 July 2019
Travelled from Norway with my wife and daughter (21). Stayed a week and really enjoyed this house! Two nice bedrooms, the beds a bit on the hard side, but comfortable. The area is nice and quiet, but the walls of the house a bit thin. The house is just a few minutes walk from the old city centre and wall. Local Sainsburys nearby. We didnt miss anything while staying, and the Stays York team answered all your questions. Recommend renting a car for a couple of days and explore a few of the nearby villages or visit Harewood House near Leeds.
It was a great place to stay
21 May 2019
After the initial problems of being double booked in another property ,not being able to undo the key safe and not being able to contact anyone , we finally were sorted and were able to enjoy our lovely holiday . It did spoil the start as we were tired and a long way from home! The house was spotlessly clean , warm, comfortable and a good quiet location for walking into York - 10 mins maximum. I loved the courtyard which was sunny in the afternoon and the walks by the river with the dogs. It was a really great place to stay and we would return. What the house lacked was information leaflets of things to do , really importantly , a decent map of where we were situated and the fact that it was so close to a wonderful area for dogs and riverside walks. I left instructions of how to get there in the folder as again it wasnt until I found a dog walker that she told me where the paths were. We had a car parked outside our door all week ,but managed to get a space next to it , but that was still awkward for packing and unpacking. We didnt use the car whilst we were there so that we kept our space. We loved 22 North Parade and would highly recommend .
We were very satisfied with the house and the service of Stays York
