From the moment we arrived we have loved everything about our stay at 3 Darnborough Street. The service from the Stays York team has been incredible. The property itself is very well maintained and was very clean on arrival. We were even greeted with a welcome hamper with so much useful information about the local area and local businesses to support. The property is perfect for our little family including a two year old. The location is fantastic with only a short 10 minute walk into York town centre. Public transport options are easy to access and the high street around the corner has everything you need from bakeries to small super markets. We will definitely book to stay here again. Our experience has been nothing short of exceptional.

We stayed at the property with our young family for a little over a month while relocating to York. It has everything we could have needed to make our stay comfortable: a fully equipped and high spec kitchen, comfortable lounge and bedrooms, and its location is fantastic.

We had a great stay, property well equipped and in a great location, easy to walk into York. We used to live in York so know it well, would definitely recommend property and location. Restaurants and shops etc on Bishopthorpe Road so handy. Parking with the permit provided was easy, great communication with Stays, we were able to arrive a little early as property was ready and someone from Stays even delivered the hamper! Much appreciated.

We had another great stay at this lovely home. With nice treats that welcome you at check in, comfy bedrooms and open plan 1st floor, and easy access to Bishy Rd restaurants and shops, 3 Darnborough St helps you feel like a local when traveling to York. The Stays Staff are very responsive from check in to check out. Thank you for everything 😊

Great property for a family of four. The location was ideal for us. Only negatives were smell of smoke from neighbouring pub, the shower did not drain well (reported that) and the stairs were a bit steep but fine for us with our older children. I’d considering staying there again despite that as the house was lovely and well appointed thank you for our stay,

Bright and comfortable well provisioned stay in an excellent area.
The house is fantastically positioned, just off the excellent Bishopthorpe road, and only a brief walk from York centre. The house was beautifully presented, with a well furnished kitchen, comfortable bright living room and comfortable bedrooms. We were travelling with out three year old daughter, so things like the full set of toddler plates and cutlery made us feel immediately welcome.

Top Notch

Great little house in a period terrace in a really vibrant area just outside the city walls on the south western side. accommodation has everything you'd reasonably need and is warm and cosy with well designed kitchen and dining space and a perfect outdoor space for sunny mornings. shower is great and the bedrooms tastefully furnished. a perfect base for exploring York. the city walls are literally outside the front door with a short walk to the Mikelgate restaurants (skoosh was little short of perfect) and thereafter over the bridge and into the dense network of medieval streets that makes York so unique. the Minster and the newly refurbed Clifford's tower are wonderful but the old streets and their multitude of tiny shops and alehouses are what makes this place so magical. couldn't recommend a stay here enough !

We had a lovely relaxing stay here. The house is beautifully furnished, very clean and had every amenity we could possibly need! The beds were very comfortable and it was lovely and quiet overnight. All the main tourist attractions were in easy walking distance and there were lots of great shops on the doorstep of the house. We really enjoyed our Thai meal from Rice Style and breakfast at Pig & Pastry. We would happily stay again if we're ever back in York!

A beautifully decorated and furnished house in a really fun area of York. The house is freshly painted, and everything is fresh and new. The house is fully equipped and we needed for nothing! The location is perfect for a visit to explore York. Only ten minutes from the centre and yet there is a thriving village-like community on the doorstep with an excellent wine bar, a busy lively popular bistro and a bakery. We would rebook in a heart beat!

Loved our stay (family, 2 kids) and will definitely be back. Easy check in process with keys onsite ready, all amenities required for a young family included, great location near a small high street but also just a 5-10 min walk from York centre. Highly recommend & will be returning.

We were very impressed with the overall cleanliness of this property; it is also extremely well-equipped. The location is very good, both for ease of walking to/from the railway station (a little over half a mile) and for access to the centre of York (around 1 mile to York Minster). There is also a very useful local parade of shops and restaurants. In terms of comfort, the living area accommodated 3 adults adequately, but would have been a squeeze for 4; the TV on the wall is mounted a little high for comfortable viewing without reclining seating.

Great property in a great location next to a great city. Excellent location - and wonderful facilities. The property was a "home from home" in every respects - the kitchen was well equipped and everything was exceptionally clean. we really loved being next to Bishy Road with it's independent shops and eating places. York - and Yorkshire - make an excellent location for a UK summer holiday; loads to do for all ages.

Central location easy to park on street. Clean, light modern living space l, great clothes storage and fully equipped kitchen. Availability of hair dryers and towels. Outdoor seating area where you can dry clothes. Wee welcome tray with some tea, coffee and biscuits to keep you going on day of arrival. Take hand wash soap and few more toilet rolls if you staying more than a few days. Dish washer and washing tabs supplied. Kids really enjoyed York’s chocolate story and feeding the squirrels at the museum gardens. Thomas’s bakery and drakes fish and chip shop worth a visit. Plenty of street food vendors for foodies.

Wonderful stay in beautiful York house

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at this immaculate property just a stone’s throw from central York and located just off the bustling Bishopthorpe Road with its cafes, delis and restaurants. The property itself is quiet, clean, with comfy beds and a great shower and is just all around gorgeous - when I posted photos of our break to let friends see, most of them commented on the loveliness of the house first! Well-equipped and light in a fabulous location and has a beautiful small courtyard garden with lovely mature roses and small bird visitors which we enjoyed so much. Stays York were also terrific in terms of customer service, check-in totally smooth etc. Amanda from Stays York is a particular star. Thanks to all for helping us have a wonderful stay!

Location cannot be bettered, with all shops etc on Bishy Rd and then York City centre 10mn walk away. Very well thought out, especially the kitchen (despite alarming lack of corkscrew). Amazing shower. Slightly noisy if windows open (Nunnery Lane to front, deliveries at rear, whcih might be problematic if you're a light sleeper and it is full summer. In rainy May we had no issue. Courtyard is a real bonus and absolutely lovely.

We had a lovely stay at 3 Darnborough St - A lovely and well decorated property. The owners have clearly given enormous energy to providing everything you could possibly need for a stay in York, fantastic kitchen (complete with Espresso machine!), two comfortable bedrooms and a gorgeous walk-in shower. No mod con has been overlooked. The kitchen is well stocked, albeit there is a risk that you might not get much of a chance to use it for cooking as Bishopthorpe Road is excellently served by takeaways and cafes. The courtyard at the back is a suntrap - the owners have taken trouble to plant it and there's a barbecue and outdoor table and chairs. On-street parking isn't a problem as the owners have a parking permit and even if you can't get parked directly outside the property you'll find a space easily enough. As well as being a gorgeous property, it's superbly located close to the City Walls, or the Barbican and Castle and is no more than 15 minutes from the City Centre or the Railway Station. Would certainly stay here again
