This recently renovated cottage is in a block of six lovely cottages which used to house the old stables for the village manor. You will have exclusive use of the cottage for the duration of your stay. The renovation of the cottages has been done with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. You can expect lots of character and luxury finishes with contemporary decoration. There is a Smart TV for cosy nights in, access to wifi as well as iPod docking speakers. The cottage has two really comfortable bedrooms designed for a peaceful nights sleep - leaving you refreshed and ready for a day of exploring either the local countryside or the historic city of York

The walk to York, through the parks, alongside the river is idyllic and takes approx. 40 minutes. The cottage, set in this quiet and tranquil location is a hidden gem on the outskirts of town. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families alike.

The property has a double bed in one of the bedrooms and the other has the flexibility to be set as either a king or twin beds upon request. Please note the bed will be set as a double as standard unless you have specifically requested twin beds.

Parking for 1 car available onsite. Please note the EV charger is a 3 pin version so you would need the correct cable for this.

This cottage was perfect for my family of 4. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, warm and quiet. Loved having the bus stop at the end of the road for easy access into the city! Just perfect

Lovely cottages within walking distance of York

This is the second time of staying at Middlethorpe Manor cottages, having previously stayed in No.4. Both were lovely. We loved the walk into York, although appreciate it might be too far for some people - takes about 40-45 minutes.

A super location and stay. It had everything one needed for a short stay. Handy for York shopping and the university, perfect for the races. Even a spa nearby! Will hopefully book it again when next back in the area.

Great location, 45 min walk to York centre, 5 mins to Mcarthur Glen designer outlet and just across the road to the race course and bus stop into the city. Beautiful village and secure area. Car EV point, but note this is shared and not allocated to this specific cottage.

We have stayed at Middlethorpe Manor cottages several times. Number 5 is the one we have used mainly. The location is perfect and is extremely quiet. High quality bedding and very comfortable beds.

Nice location but needs a deep clean

Nice location, good communication from Stays staff. Good information booklet in property. Parking available. However it was superficially clean, it is in need of a deep clean. We were disappointed to see rubbish under the beds, cobwebs, thick layer of grime under the sofas, and an old full babys bottle under there also!

Lovely quiet location

We had a lovely couple of days staying at Middlethorpe Manor Cottages. We found it to be an excellent base for exploring York, but also a lovely peaceful oasis to retreat to. The cottage was easy to locate from the instructions provided and the access was very simple. It felt really cosy and we would definitely consider booking again.

A lovely find. An historic building converted into a modern, well-appointed and very comfortable holiday home. Well equipped and beautifully decorated with a super little welcome pack provided. It was nice enough to sit out in the little courtyard garden with ancient trees all around. A pleasant stroll alongside the racecourse to Bishy Road, a delightful neighbourhood shopping street with its cafes, restaurants and delis. And the cottage was very handy for parkrun round the racecourse - a fast and flat PB course - if that's of interest! Would stay again and happily recommend.

Fantastic property very conveniently located near York city centre, but in a quiet leafy country location. Spotlessly clean and well presented, with everything provided you could need. Whenever we are in York again, this will be our first choice - highly recommended.

Thank you so much for having us - we really appreciated the location next to the Knavesmire, the thoughtfully appointed rooms and the comfortable beds. Thank you too for your quick response to the minor issues with the WiFi and loo tank - it was great having someone to talk to who quickly sorted out a solution. We will certainly stay again if we come back to York!

A fabulous cottage in a beautiful location, two minutes walk from the race course. Check in was so easy and we were welcomed with a lovely box of local goodies! (Very much appreciated!) The cottage was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the shower was powerful (and it was handy to have a second downstairs toilet, which isn't always the case in a two bedroom cottage). We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back

Recently returned from a short 5 night break at Middlethorpe Manor Cottages and it was superb. Excellently located within easy walking distance of York. (Roughly about 1.5-2 miles).
On arrival the instructions for entering the cottage were spot on and we easily entered the main gates and then the cottage. We found the cottage to be clean, tidy and as per the description . The living quarters and bedrooms were of good size, as was both bathrooms. The cottage seem very quiet and peaceful, while the court yard garden was lovely. It was a nice place to enjoy a morning brew. The additional bonus for the cottages was certainly its location. In a very short walk you could be on the main footpath around the race course. This was a nice day way to walk into York. You can additionally walk down Bishy road and then follow the footpath that parallels the river.
Not only is it close to York, but it is a excellent location for exploring further afield. We used it as the perfect base to explore other parts of Yorkshire such as Harrogate, Outlet Village and some of the fab farms close by. All in all, it was a welcoming and relaxing stay and I would highly recommend it.

Lovely cottage with nice furnishings in a lovely location. Although the kitchen needs more basic equipment: more cutlery (only 3 dessert spoons), potato peeler, bread bin. Also the cleaner needs to invest in a feather duster as cobwebs everywhere! However I would stay again.

A perfect Yorkshire Getaway

The cottage is very tastefully decorated, It was clean and tidy and a nice welcome box on arrival with some goodies. Take a torch if arriving in the dark ;) The security is brilliant with the external gate. The location is excellent for the City and walking to it along the river and also the Outlet Mall which is about 4 miles away. The Race Course is a short walk too. and very popular for dog walkers. Would book again for the location. I can't fault the property for comfort and location. I would recommend. My only negatives are the zip and link bed. It wasn't very comfortable at all. One side has a deep dip and it would be more comfy if it had a topper on it so you couldn't feel the link. Because of this I didn't sleep too well. Also the fan in the bathroom is very noisy so can potentially disturb others upstairs, but other than this small point, the Cottage is lovely and I would recommend :)
