Introducing 23 Bishopgate Street. A superbly stylish, conveniently located and sumptuously furnished 2 bedroom holiday let. Located on the edge of Bishopthorpe Road, the Notting Hill of the North, the property benefits from being just a couple of minutes walk from all that York has to offer.
With a fully open plan ground floor area incorporating a chic dining area, modern fitted kitchen and designer living space, the house comes with all mod cons including a 55” TV with Netflix installed, a Nespresso machine, PURE radio with bluetooth connection, full size Miele fridge freezer, to name a few. The house can be set up as two double bedrooms, or one double and one twin. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with a modern, homely feel. The master bedroom has floor to ceiling, hand crafted sliding wardrobes with plenty of space for unpacking those suitcases and a view of York's city walls.
The dining area is filled with art from local, York based artists including a tongue in cheek original painting of tipsy post races goers wandering down Petergate. Thought has been put into every aspect of the interior design of this holiday let taking all needs into consideration. The dining room also houses a wood burning stove to keep you cosy during the Winter.
The back courtyard has outdoor seating for 6 during the Summer months and if you are bringing a dog with you, it’s a nice, secure space for them to get some fresh air and stretch their legs.
York Racecourse is an 8 minute walk away so an easy commute for race goers. Whether you are planning a day at the races with family or friends, 23 Bishopgate St is ideally located for you.

Great stay

We had a lovely stay at Number 23, the property is a great choice if you're planning on visiting York. The city is walkable from the property and the immediate amenities are fab - Bishy Road is such a vibe! The house has a great interior, with loads of local touches. The kitchen is very well-equipped, although if you're planning on taking a picnic anywhere be sure to take Tupperware, foil/cling/parchment, or sandwich bags with you, as there isn't anything in the kitchen to use. The only thing that we could have done with but wasn't provided was a kitchen roll. There were a few discrepancies between the Air bnb and listing and what was provided but possibly that was due to the property only just being handed over to Stays York prior to our arrival. Mainly bathroom provisions - no shampoo and conditioner when the listing said there was - and the hairdryer listed as provided didn't work.
Exceed expectations

Lovely house in cenyral location

Stayed here for week and found the house to be very central to town centre and all the historical sites. Clean, modern accommodation with everything you would need. Only thing I found to criticise was the double bed was quite small for two adults but that's just my personal preference. Otherwise a great property for a weeks break. Thankyou we enjoyed our stay very much. Bishopsgate Rd in particular had beautiful coffee shops and restaurants for eating out.

Access is difficult: why do door handles need to be pulled up to lock? Where are the details for getting in the front door? Why was the access code for the rear gate wrong (relied on next door neighbour to get in!).Who says it has two bathrooms? How do older people take their luggage upstairs? Answer: they don't - they dress downstairs. Why does the Nespresso machine leak water? Despite all that, lovely place to stay, and so very close for a good walk through old York. And last but not least, short walk to the York Horse Races and Park Run.

Luxury home a stone's throw from York centre. Central location, easy walk into York. Fabulous local shops, especially Flori Bakery.

Perfect location !

Couldn't have wished for a better location, on one side you're right on the wall and seconds into the city center whilst nestled in Bishy a wonderful artisan area with a fabulous range of shops. The property has everything you need and more with a higher than average spec, there's everything you could possibly need and more and everything top quality !! Beautiful artwork throughout .. a private gallery in its own right. Street parking with permit provided was never a problem although no place directly outside to unload the car however that was simply because I was there on a long stay with a lot of luggage. The gated back lane made it feel very safe and secure (although I couldn't seem to understand why the property only came with a key for the back door not the front, also only one key provided so if your group will be entering/exiting at different times I would suggest asking for an additional key). Perfect for a longer stay and this will certainly be my first choice when I return to York !
Fantastic stay!

Just perfect, especially when travelling as a family. Beautiful and very spacious apartment with two floors, actually a house of its own with a patio, very close to the ancient centre of York. It has been renovated less than a year ago with much love to the detail in a very modern and nevertheless cosy style. Everything you can think of was there, from bathroom utensils to Yorkshire tea and cookies or books or brochures on York and nearby restaurants. In Bishopsgate Road you find grocery stores, lovely coffee shops and restaurants. Perfect also for families, we were four, we had a great week in York and would always want to stay in this apartment again. Many thanks to the hosts!
Disappointing.

We liked our stay in York. Beautiful city and many things to do and to see. We even liked the house. But when we came back home we received an email that we had damaged a chair which we did not. But we had no proof so we did not get back the deposit we had paid. This felt really bad and we were so disappointed, that we do not have good memories anymore.

Clean, convenient and comfortable. The house is immaculately clean and well equipped for any situation and includes plenty of thoughtful extras such as cookies, bread, juice, espresso and tea. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and well made with plenty of towels for our stay folded on top of them. The location is extremely convenient with a few pubs and plenty of restaurants just outside. Central York is just a quick walk away with plenty more food a entertainment options as well. Our favourite part of this house is the bi-fold doors leading outside. Although we couldn't open them as much as we wanted to this time due to the cooler weather, we hope we will be able to book here again during the summer months when we come again.
