Situated directly across from one of the most historic sites in York, Clifford's Tower. It is now all that remains of York Castle, set upon a mound which was originally built by William the Conqueror, and it is on the doorstep of 1 Peckitt Street.
Newly refurbished this one bedroom apartment is a perfect place to base yourself, ready for your time in the historic Ciy of York. With one of the most historic buildings directly on your doorstep, you don't have far to go to start your journey. The apartment has lovely stripped wooden floors and high ceilings, all contributing to a wonderful light bright and airy feel. The open plan living area has a large window, which lets lots of light in and allows you to enjoy your morning coffee whilst you sit back, relax and watch the world go by. The lovely kitchen area has granite work surfaces and is fitted with everything that you will need, right down to the dishwasher and washer dryer. Whether you are here for a quick City break or longer, it has everything that you may need. The bedroom is again light and airy and has a big comfortable bed, in which to snuggle down into at the end of your very busy day. The bathroom boasts a luxury walk in shower and is perfect for getting ready for your day, or evening out in the fantastic City of York, the heart of which is a matter of minutes walk from your door. Please note that the apartment is based on an upper floor and doesn't have lift access.

Perfect York Apartment

My wife and I were stoked with Motte & Bailey. Couldn't have picked a better location for our week-long stay in York during Halloween season. It's footsteps away from all the action, but still a nice quiet retreat with a great view down Clifford Street. Kitchen had all the basics you need to cook simple meals. Bedroom was nice and big, bathroom was modern and clean, heating was easy to control and kept the place warm. The only downside was that there is a sensor light in the hallway and you can't turn it off - it pretty much stayed on 24/7. Not a huge issue, but slightly annoying that you couldn't sneak to the bathroom at night without getting blasted by this bright LED light. Hopefully they just change it to a regular light with a switch.
Nice Place but very noisy from Upstairs flats

We stayed at this place for work, the place it self is lovely, all new and freshly refurbished with lovely neutral decor, original wooden floors, underfloor bathroom heated floors etc etc However the place it self is located next door to two nightclubs which kick out at 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, there was a lot of extra noise/police sirens etc etc at 4am which was really disturbing. The persons staying in the fly above also have wooden flooring so if they get up at any point to use the bathroom in the middle of the night everyone in the middle floor knows about it! Which is a shame as I think a bit of underlay and carpet would fix this problem but the company seemed more interested in sending emails to current tenant when I fed this back to them. The place is cleaned by an external company which is doing OK but have missed a few places and despite it being new the place has started to look a little grubby. We reported all these things back but the lady who mailed back didnt seem interested and gave me the managers email if I wanted to complain more - I didnt want to complain I just wanted to give them the feedback that other guests might be disturbed by the same things! There is also a motion sensor light in the hallway that comes on and lights up the bedroom, the sitting room And the bathroom when you make even a slight movement in one of the rooms! I couldnt figure out how the sensor worked - it came on when you turned over in bed!!!! Anyway if youre hard of hearing or a dead heavy sleeper youll love this place. If not - book lady peck it street - their property there was faultless.
