Good value base for York races

The apartment is in a good location not far from the railway station. It has a very spacious main room which incorporates a kitchenette. The shower room is a little cramped. The main room was sparsely decorated but comfortable. I had a bit of a problem with the keysafe mainly because I was unfamiliar with them. A call to Stays York sorted that problem out. All in all I enjoyed my stay at the value for money apartment.
Apartment 10

Overall a good place to stay. Please note the lounge is directly above a pub bar area. Also, the entrance to this particular apartment is at the rear of the pub up an external staircase. Currently there is scaffolding at the back of the apartment. It only affects the bedroom window. We stayed over a weekend, so there weren't any workmen during our visit. We could only hear slight mumbles from the pub below, and nothing at all from the bedroom. So it was fine. As others have mentioned the bathroom is too small, more the size of a cloakroom. There's definitely space to enlarge it. The shower was hot. Too hot really, despite the controls already set to cold. The kitchen could definitely do with some more basic items, such as a baking tray and proper oven gloves. Also, remember to press the middle square light on the oven display to get it to pre-heat. It's a shame they don't allow luggage storage. There's definitely space immediately outside the flat door in the entrance hallway to instal lockable storage. Obviously there are places in York that will store luggage, it's just a thought. Having said all of this I would stay here again. The location is great, a few minutes walk from the train station. The lounge and bedroom are big and airy and the bed is very comfortable. There's also a gorgeous deli/cafe on Micklegate, so minutes away on foot. I think it's called Partisan. Enjoy your stay.
Great for a weekend away
Enjoyable trip
Truthful review

We really enjoyed our stay in York, such a beautiful city! Once you book and pay you're given clear instructions how to access the accommodation, we received a call to say we could check in early which was a bonus as it's quite a late time of 4pm before you can enter. The flat was spotless, a little welcome pack and an information folder were left for us which had everything you would need from emergency numbers to restaurant recommendations. Good location which was ten minutes walk away from The Shambles. We were overall happy, however, it wouldn't be a truthful review of we didn't share the negatives. Although customer service started off great it didn't last, we phoned as we needed another blanket after a small accident (NOT in the flat) resulted in one of us having to be propped up on the sofa instead of the bed, we didn't get one or indeed a phone call to say what was happening, the flat has very high ceilings so it's difficult to keep cosy without a blanket. The flat is flanked either side by two pubs, you can hear the noise coming from below but it's not as bad as the noise coming from workmen early in the morning doing major renovations next door, if course this is not the Boutiques fault but before booking it should've been made clear on the website that this was taking place. The sink in the bathroom is ridiculously tiny, all the walls in all rooms could do with a freshen up along with the mouldy silicone being replaced. These are all small niggles but put them altogether and they become distracting, if they were all addressed then we would absolutely book The Falcon Tap again
Peaceful,lovely big apartment
Great location
Excellent

Excellent location, perfect for exploring the city centre. The accommodation was excellent although the shower room was rather restricted compared to the rest of the apartment. An issue with the heating was quickly resolved by the Stays York staff who were extremely helpful and responsive. It would have been useful to know that it was possible to drop off/ pick up at the entrance to the property. We would certainly re-book when visiting York.
Great Location, not cleaned

The flat has an impressive view and lounge/diner. Bedroom at the back and quiet enough, plenty of storage and facilities. Flat was not cleaned well enough, empty milk bottle under the bed and toe nail (urgh) on the lounge rug. Dried mud in the hall and what looked like dog poo stains on the landing. We only stayed one night but the arrangements with Micklegate News worked a treat. Supply of decaf tea in the welcome pack would be useful.
