Brecks Farm - From what used to be a working farm and livery, Guy and Tracey have converted this much loved family property into a small development of 5 beautiful cottages, with an eye for detail that ensures your every comfort. Having previously been a joiner, Guy has put his skills to great use, including the bed heads in the master bedrooms that have been meticulously made by hand - this can be seen in so many of the finishing touches in these lovely holiday homes.
The Parlour - This very spacious, beautifully presented 1 bedroom property has the added bonus of a very comfortable sofa bed. Ideal for a couple, or family or even a friends get away. It has a fantastic outside area for BBQ's or breakfast with beautiful views across the countryside and its own perfectly manicured garden to make the most of the great outdoors! The property is all on one level and has the most fabulous master bedroom with that "luxury hotel" feel about it, created, in no small part, by the hand crafted Bed Head! This is complimented by a house bathroom with a great walk in shower.
The open plan living area provides a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing something delicious to cook on the BBQ or for dining in at a table that has ample room for a family dinner or a cosy meal for 2. The living area has a wood burning stove for cosy nights in either a movie evening or family board games - your on holiday!
Whether you fancy venturing into York which is a short 10 minute drive away, cycling in the countryside or exploring the many historical sights within very easy driving distance, The Parlour provides the perfect base for your hard earned holiday!
There is a car charging point in each of the 5 cottages at the farm, the points are a 16a designated supply accessible with a standard UK 13a three pin plug.
Guest’s are more than welcome to charge there cars but we ask that they leave in the cottage a contribution towards the cost of the electric used.
Dogs are welcome at a cost of £20 per dog per stay. We would ask that dogs are not left in the property unattended.

Fabulous cottage in an ideal location
24 January 2023
After excellent directions from Guy we parked up outside our cottage. Guy, Tracey and Traceys Mum were nearby so came to greet us and after a warm welcome we were soon inside. The Parlour is a beautiful cosy cottage, the log burner made it extra cosy on what was a very cold weekend but really wasnt needed for heat just looked amazing when lit! The welcome pack is the best weve ever seen. Ideal location, a bus stop at the top of the drive into York if you dont want to use the car or its just a few minutes from Rawcliffe Bar park and ride. Plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes within minutes too.?
Christmas at Brecks Farm on the outskirts of beautiful York. A magical trip to remember.

This is my third time staying at Brecks farm, I love it here. Its a lovely place to switch off. The cottages and surrounding area are beautiful. Access isnt a problem for wheelchair users, ramps are incorporated into the paving so aesthetically you dont notice, its those details that impress. The family are friendly and very welcoming too which always makes a difference.
Idyllic country stay

Amazing dog friendly accommodation. The house was spotlessly clean, and had everything you could ever need. It was a true home away from home. Rural, quiet and secluded, but only 10 minutes from York city centre and 5 minutes from a large supermarket. Guy and Tracey were wonderful and couldnt have been more helpful. A perfect start to the festive season!
A nice breck away.

We stayed in 'the parlour' which open plan, one level, with a garden looking onto the front field where we could see the owl in the evening, hares and a pheasant. The cottage is modern and the bed was big and comfy. Farm is a few minutes from a Tesco and retail park but it's so quiet you wouldn't know, and the park & ride for York is 5 minutes drive away. Spent time watching the ducks and ducklings at the pond, and the other wildlife. A lovely relaxing break, or breck.

The Parlour is amazing. One of the best Airbnbs we stayed so far. The perfect combination between location, amenities and high quality. The Parlour had everything we needed for our stay, and Guy the owner even left treats and blankets for our dog! Kitchen fully equipped, super king size bed super comfortable and the living room really cosy. The location is great, 10 min driving to the York city centre, and 4 min to supermarkets. The garden was really nice, with a perfect bbq to enjoy the evening. Thanks Guy! We will definitely come back!

This is a fab spot - owners are lovey and go out of their way to help guests. Great location for exploring York and around while still being able to enjoy peace in the country. Also really good for kids. Would thoroughly recommend.

A quiet stay in busy York
14 September 2021
The cottage was refurbished this year so everything was brand new. It was well equipped and comfortable with its own private patio and garden looking out over fields with sheep and horses. A very rural feel but only just outside the outer ring road of York. There is a bus service (1 or 2 an hour) to the city centre close by, or alternatively the Park and Ride at Rawcliffe Bar is a couple of miles drive away and from there the buses to the city centre are fast, frequent, and run until late - around 10.30 pm. It is also worth noting that the accommodation is very close to the Clifton Moor Retail and Business Parks where you will find a comprehensive range of furnishing, homewares and DIY stores plus restaurants, cinema and tenpin bowling. We found this very helpful as the main purpose of our visit was to help our daughter set up home in York. However, we were still close enough to take time out for the attractions of York, and it was lovely to have a peaceful place to go back to.
A perfect break away!

We had an excellent stay at Breks Away, the accommodation is first class with special touches like locally produced bread in the welcome pack. The location is perfect, close enough to York but easy to go out into rural areas - the hospitality is superb and the family genuine, caring and thoughtful making you feel valued and wanting to return again! We were recommended Breks Away and have already been doing the same.
